DMP day 4!!

i was TIRED today. lucky i didnt put the hullett exco interview today. anw, first period was bio (closer look at life). everyone felt kinda lethargic, to be honest, but content wasnt that bad. we started off with going thru the previous lesson's worksheet, and then the main thing was making specimens. actually the specimens could be made into bookmarks, but only the good ones would be made into them. so, first jiaxuan, brandon and i chose some leaves and then we compressed it with the super super heavy thick bio textbook XD. yea this is supposed to 'squeeze' the juice out of the leaves, becoz you need specimens to be dry. anw, we put on this grills next (you know those barbeque grills?) on top of the newspaper covering the specimens, and there they go into the oven! so we'll be getting back our specimens on lesson 4 i guess. hopefully ours is good enuff to be made into a bookmark :)

next was chem nanotech, just two floors below in the chem lab. i mentioned the ferrofluid experiment in the previous post, so today's experiment was the gold nano-sized particles! ok i admit this experiment wasnt as fun or exciting as the ferrofluid one, but at least there's still some good product. so, the basic principle is that the physical properties differ in the nanoscale compared to an object in its normal state. for eg. gold is well golden when you look at it, but on the nanoscale, it's actually red. so, what we did was to synthesise these gold particles (no we can't get real money from it), and then the final product was these vials of red ribena-like solutions which contains gold nano-particles. well, at least this lesson was well planned and more organised. but i still prefered the ferrofluid experiment.

chinese was BORING. ok at LEAST the songs this time was slightly closer to our generation's songs. lol. anw first half of the lesson was going thru sum presentation slides, and then she just let us listen to some of the songs in her com. i slept thru the second half of the lesson XD couldn't sleep in the first half because the idiots beside me were so bloody noisy and rowdy, bryce and the crowd.
